NOAA predicts near to above average 2018 hurricane season

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is releasing its 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast.

Earlier this year, Colorado State University predicted a slightly above average season, with 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes

NOAA is predicting 10 to 16 named storms, 5 to 9 hurricanes and 1 to 4 major hurricanes.

Our 30 year average is 12 named storms, 6 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes.

The 2017 season was above average with a total of 17 named storms, 10 hurricanes and 6 major hurricanes.
