Yaremi Farinas joined CBS12 in July 2016 as a General Assignment Reporter.
The South Florida- native started her career at WCJB-TV20 in Gainesville, FL. There she worked as a Multi-media journalist running the Marion County bureau.
She later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where she reported for the morning show. During her career in Tulsa she covered a wide-range of stories from the Sand Springs tornado in 2015, the reserve deputy who shot and killed an unarmed man and the fallout at the University of Oklahoma after fraternity boys were captured on video singing a racist chant.
While in Oklahoma she helped jump start the Oklahoma chapter for the National Association for Hispanic Journalists.
Born to Cuban parents, Yaremi is bilingual and comes from a large family. She is excited to be back home in South Florida where she is closer to her relatives.
Yaremi is a graduate from Florida International University with a major in Journalism. While at FIU she was a member of the dance team called the "Golden Dazzlers."
She loves to eat, dance, workout, lay out on the beach and hang out with her dog.
