Hi, it's Stefany and I'm so excited to join CBS12 News as the weekend evening anchor and reporter.

I was born in Panama City, Panama, and lived there until I was 8 years old. My Dad's job moved our family to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where we lived for a few years before settling in Augusta, Ga.

I am a proud alumnus of Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.

My career started in Augusta, Ga., as a reporter in November of 2015.

During my time reporting in Greenville, S.C., I earned an AP Award for Small Market: Best Spot News Reporting for coverage of the EF-2 tornado that wreaked havoc in Johnston, S.C.

The story in my career that’s most dear to my heart, was ‘Bone Marrow for Maci.’ A family was begging the community to get tested to see if they could find a bone marrow match for 1-year-old Maci Hyman. Through my story, the family was able to get more than 1,700 people signed up. Which resulted in Maci receiving her bone marrow transplant. It's the biggest blessing to see that report lead to a successful surgery and now Maci is cancer free.

But now I'm beyond thrilled to call West Palm Beach, Fl., home.

When I'm not breaking news, you can find me reading a book or listening to a podcast by the pool, binge watching crime documentaries on Netflix or exercising.

I loves to hear from the community, so send me an email at, follow me on Twitter/Instagram @TopStoryStef and be sure to keep up with my latest stories on Facebook @StefanyValderramaTV.
