Palm Beach Central & Palm Beach Lakes basketball win big district games on Friday night
Wellington & Royal Palm Beach (CBS12) —
The Wellington Wolverines boys basketball team dropped to 11-5 on Friday night, dropping their first district game of the season 58-56 to their cross-town rivals at Palm Beach Central High School. The Broncos' Alphonse Alfred hit a clutch three pointer in the final seconds of the game, as the Broncos improved their record to 11-5 on the season.
Palm Beach Lakes, meanwhile, continued to look like a team destined for a run in the playoffs with a hard fought 65-58 road win at Royal Palm Beach High School. Sheldon Edwards sacrificed his body as he drove to the net in the final few minutes, nailing the basket while drawing the foul, leading to an eventual 65-58 win over the Wildcats, dropping their record to 10-6 on the year,
