Long wait over for Forest Hill football team

Forest Hill Falcons practice before first round of the playoffs.

Friday night 13 Palm Beach County schools open up the playoffs - for one of them, it is a return to glory after a very long wait.

Forest Hill returns to the playoffs for the first time in 21 seasons. The Falcons went 8-1 this season and they've enjoyed a resurgence under head coach Jude Blessington, winning games by being smart, not turning the ball over, and buying into the coaching staff.

Blessington has a lot of pride in that he's built this longtime doormat into a playoff contender, by doing it the right way.

The offense has been dominated by quarterback Darius McClendon and BJ Jones, a sophomore running back that looks like he may be one of the best in the county for years to come. But the heart and soul of the team is former CBS12 Athlete of the Week Jordon Earle - the excitable leader on both the offensive and defensive lines who will play at Appalachian State next year.

Falcons play at West Broward Friday night.
