The Dwyer and Palm Beach Gardens football teams arguably have the most intense high school football rivalry in Palm Beach County. Their dislike for each other on the football field was displayed during the pregame coin toss when the team captains refused to shake hands.

Palm beach Gardens had an opportunity to tie the game late in the 4th quarter when the Gators fumbled the ball at the Dwyer goal line. Carl Willis Jr. scooped it up, and returned it 99 yards for the touchdown.

Palm Beach Gardens would pull of a late 32-yard touchdown to Deonte Cooley to get within a touchdown with 2:18 left. But Dwyer answered when Bobby Armes ran 78 yards for his third touchdown of the game to put away the win.

The 33-25 Panthers win was their 9th straight win over their cross town rivals dating back to 2007.
