Atlantic Eagles three wins away from title for third straight year

Atlantic Eagles prepare for the Regional Finals.

For the third straight year, the Atlantic High School Eagles are three wins away from a state championship.

They are back in the Regional Finals, and hoping this is the year, they can win it all for the first time ever.

Under head coach T.J. Jackson, Atlantic is seeing the kind of sustained success they haven't seen since the mid 70's. Jackson took over the program in 2012, as a first time head coach. But the Olympic Heights grad who played at Virginia Tech, still in his 30s, Jackson has created a winning atmosphere at the Delray Beach school, on the field and in the classroom.

Atlantic hosts Western out of Broward County on Friday. The Eagles are trying to become the first Palm Beach County school to win the state championship in the biggest class in the state since Palm Beach Gardens won in 2005. The will play the winner of Miami High and Miami Columbus in the state semifinals if they survive on Friday.
