Trick Shot Artist and Reality TV star leads Honda Classic

Through 18 holes, leading at PGA National is a trick shot artist-slash-reality TV star.

Wesley Bryan did not take a typical route to get to the top of the Honda Classic leaderboard.

The PGA Tour rookie tapped in at his final hole Thursday for a -6 under 66, to finish tied with Cody Gribble at the top of leaderboard after Day 1.

Bryan has had success at PGA National before - he qualified for Q-School with a good showing there..

And then there's this - Bryan, and his brother George, were on the Palm Beach season of the "Big Break", Golf Channel's reality TV show, where the winners can fight for spots in real pro events.

Bryan did not last long on the show - "I can't even begin to describe to you the pressure of that show," he says.

But Bryan has a fan base, not just from "Big Break".

Bryan and his brother have become internet phenomenons, with a number of viral golf trick shot videos. Despite Bryan's new success he's not ready to put fun internet videos behind him.

"I don't have as much time to put to them, but I'm not saying if the right collaboration came along, we wouldn't take advantage of it."

Bryan may be popular for his fun stuff, but in round one of the Honda Classic, he showed some serious game.
