Palm Beach Gardens (CBS12) — The Honda Classic is just over a month away. As we wait to see if big name players like Tiger Woods and Brooks Koepka will play, along with Jupiter resident and defending champion Justin Thomas, PGA National is already taking shape.
You might notice extra scaffolding this year on the Champions Course, a sure sign that the fan experience is going to be bigger and better than ever before. Honda Classic Executive Director Ken Kennerly says Palm Beach County's PGA Tour stop needs to improve each and every year, and that 2019 will be no different, starting with major upgrades to the fan experience at iconic 'Bear Trap'.
"There's more seating behind the tee," says Kennerly about the new 'Bear Trap' experience. "The hospitality at 17 continues to grow, as it does at 14 and 15. It looks great on TV, it looks great in real life, and we're just so happy to continue to grow."
The Honda Classic goes from February 25th to March 3rd at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens.
