South Florida PGA teaches veterans golf, gives them HOPE
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) —
Returning home can be a scary prospect for many veterans.
That's why the First Tee, an organization known for teaching kids life lessons through the sport of golf, has branched out to help some older students in need of help, and hope.
The PGA HOPE project, with hope standing for Helping Our Patriots Everywhere, is entering its 4th year at the South Florida chapter of the PGA.
This year the spectacular Mirasol Country Club in Palm Beach Gardens stands as the host site of an 8 week clinic - veterans of any golfing level come out to learn the sport of golf from some of the best PGA professional teachers in the area.
Dave McNulty has been part of the program since the beginning, and teaches veterans for free, all year long.
All PGA Hope programming is fully funded by the South Florida PGA Foundation and offered at no cost for military veterans and their families.
