One-on-one with Justin Thomas after first round of Honda Classic
PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. (CBS12) —
Jupiter resident Justin Thomas was king of the golf world last year. A PGA Championship win, a FedEx Cup title earned, and a PGA Tour Player of the Year trophy basically sowed that away for him.
But he's never won at his home course in Palm Beach Gardens, and he put himself in a great spot after the first 18 holes at the Honda Classic.
Thomas fired a 3 under 67 Thursday to put himself just one stroke back of leaders Webb Simpson and Alex Noren.
Thomas went one-on-one with CBS12's John Evenson to discuss his opening round, sleeping in his own bed during the tournament, and playing with good friend Daniel Berger.
Thomas is the highest ranked player in the field - he's fourth in the world golf rankings.
