One-on-one with Bernhard Langer and daughter Jackie after Oasis Championship win
Boca Raton (CBS12) —
Bernhard Langer is used to winning on the PGA Tour Champions. But there is not a win quite as special as this one.
The Boca Raton resident won the Oasis Championship on Sunday with his daughter Jackie Langer-John carrying his bag.
"She keeps me loose out there and that's important because there's obviously pressure and we get nervous at times so that's a very good combination," said Bernhard Langer, who finished at 19-under to win the championship.
It was only her third time caddying for her father. In fact, the duo came close to winning the Boca Raton Championship last year but fell short.
"To get a win is nice but honestly I have to give the praise all to him. He works so hard day in and day out, whether it's with the clubs or just physically and mentally. It's great fun, it's a great time and we look forward to hopefully doing it again soon," said Langer-John.
Langer got off to a hot start on Sunday, birding five of the first seven holes. He finished the day at 19-under, and one of the first things he did was hug his daughter.
