Andrew Kozan is one of the most talented high school golfers to come out of Palm Beach County in quite some time. Monday he was hoping to earn a chance to play against the biggest stars in the game at the U.S. Open.

The former King's Academy star and CBS12 Athlete of the Week was trying to take his game to another level at Monday's rainy U.S. Open Qualifier in Wellington. Kozan just finished up his freshman year at Auburn, a golf season where he admits he fought through some growing pains with his game. But he believes one year of college golf has made him better.

Kozan finished with a 73 in today's one-day round of qualifying, falling just short of advancing to the next stage.
