So many young golfers in Palm Beach County were inspired to play golf by being a patron to the Honda Classic since they were little kids. This past weekend, many of those young golfers got to play in the Junior Honda Classic.

Henry Debeil helped to lead the Benjamin Golf team into action at PGA National, competing against over 200 players from 37 schools from 6 different states. The Benjamin girls team finished 3rd overall, while the the boys team finished 7th. The Benjamin golf coach Toby Harbeck also organizes the field for the Junior Honda Classic, and is proud that the tournament has doubled in size since it started in 2011.

The big Honda is also transposed down here to the high school Honda", says Harbeck. "You see the Honda Classic all over this place, and the kids recognize it. They feel like they're pros right now, playing the pros game. It's the same tournament, the same golf course."

Honda Classic Executive Director Ken Kennerly's goal is for a Junior Honda Classic participant to move on, and eventually play in the real Honda Classic.
