Dwyer grad Daniel Berger happy with fast start at hometown Honda Classic
Jupiter (CBS12) —
Jupiter resident and Dwyer High School grad Daniel Berger hasn’t made the cut at the Honda Classic since his 2015 runner-up finish, but he’s of to a great start in 2018, finishing at -3 after the first round.
“It’s a really, really tough golf course,” says Berger. “The conditions today were super windy, the greens were super fast. To get off to a good start makes it a little easier, and I’m in a good position which is right where I want to be.”
Playing with Sergio Garcia and his good friend, Jupiter Island resident Justin Thomas, who also finished the day at -3 was a big boost.
“Absolutely, when you’ve got a group, you’re kind of feeding off each other,” says Berger. “We’re all hitting good shots which makes it easier to see what you want to do out there.”
