Wellington native Brad Peacock has 'adrenaline filled' hometown start for the Astros
Jupiter (CBS12) —
Brad Peacock probably went through more adrenaline last year than he has his whole life. The Wellington native and former Palm Beach Central High School player was suddenly a huge piece in what as an impressive World Series championship journey for the Houston Astros.
The former Palm Beach State star was on the mound for the second time this spring on Sunday, facing the St. Louis Cardinals at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter. Not only was he literally 'at home', but he was looking right at home on the mound, striking out three batters over two innings of no-hit baseball
Peacock says it's easy for him to get motivated, even when he doesn't have that World Series adrenaline coursing through his veins. "I get the same nerves I do during any game," admits Peacock. "Even if it's spring training, so I think that helps me out big time. I think everybody does, we all get (those butterflies), so I work off that,"
Peacock says this was probably his final start of the spring, and that he's fully expecing to be a key piece out of the bullpen once again this season.
