Last time Alex Reyes was in Jupiter - he was the star of the Florida State League. The number one prospect for the St. Louis Cardinals rocketed up the minor league system - only to suffer what so many professional pitchers dread - having to go under the knife for Tommy John Surgery.

Reyes sat out all of last season, and he got his first taste back on the mound Wednesday night for the Palm Beach Cardinals, getting the start at Roger Dean Stadium against the Jupiter Hammerheads.

Reyes got about 60 pitches in his return and he pitched a pretty flawless 3 and a third innings. Reyes gave up 4 hits, zero runs and just 1 walk. He showed plenty of zip on his fastball, measuring out in the mid to high 90s. He finished with six strikeouts. Cardinals would wind up losing the game 10-2, by giving up 9 runs in the top of the 10th inning.
