New coordinators getting comfortable during FAU spring practice
BOCA RATON, Fla. (CBS12) —
FAU fans were worried that Lane Kiffin might bolt from Boca after he led the Owls to their best season in school history. While Lane decided to stay, some of the faces around have changed.
Lane Kiffin had to replace both his offensive and defensive coordinators heading into this season. On the offensive side of the ball, Kiffin is hoping that 24-year-old wunderkind Charlie Weis Jr. will be able to have the same success that Kendal Briles did leading a potent offense last season. On the defensive side of the ball, Tony Pecoraro takes over. He was recently at Southern Miss, and is expected to bring a more aggressive defense to Boca.
Kiffin says, both sides are all ready clicking with their new leaders.
The FAU spring game is two weeks from this Saturday.
