In basketball, you know the bubble is a tough place to be. That's exactly where the FAU baseball team finds itself, with just a few weeks left in the season. The Owls' RPI stands at 35, when 33 at-large bids make the tournament.

But that will likely go up after Tuesday night's 11-8 slugfest victory over Central Florida at the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches in West Palm.

UCF took a 4-2 lead in the top of the third with a two run homer by Tyler Osik. But the Owls bounced right back with a game-tying two-run triple off the bat of David Miranda. He scored on an RBI groundout to take the lead, and the Owls would never give it back.

FAU improves to 32-14-1 on the year, while UCF drops to 32-17. These teams may see each other in the postseason if they do advance, at least one baseball bracketologist has them both in a potential Gainesville Regional.

Just six games remain on FAU’s regular season schedule: three this weekend, beginning Friday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee against Middle Tennessee, and the final home series, vs. WKU, May 17-19.
