Boynton Beach native Lamar Jackson was the star of college football season last year - the Louisville Quarterback was the talk of the nation, all the way until he won the Heisman Trophy.

This season, many of his numbers were better, and he's going to have a chance to repeat. Jackson was named as one of the three Heisman finalists Thursday, meaning he will be in New York on Heisman night again, trying to become just the second player ever to win Heisman trophies in back-to-back seasons.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield and Stanford running back Bryce Love will join Jackson. Mayfield is the heavy favorite, and won the Walter Camp Award on Thursday. Usually the Camp Award winner wins the Heisman.

Jackson led the ACC in passing yards and rushing yards, earning conference player of the year honors for the second straight season.
