Open enrollment is quickly approaching.

Fall is here, which means it's time to start thinking about health insurance. Open enrollment for both Obamacare (Affordable Care Act) and Medicare is quickly approaching, and you don't want to miss it.

For those who already have health insurance

Even if you already have coverage, now is the best time to check and make sure you have the right plan for you and your family. Life-changing events, like having a baby, sending a kid to college, or getting married, might require changes to your plan. Consider anything that may come up.

What if you don't have health insurance?

According to Doug Bartel, Senior Director of Media Relations with Florida Blue, there are millions of people in Florida who don't have health insurance. However, many of those people qualify for a subsidy under Obamacare.

To find out if you qualify for a subsidy, visit a Florida Blue Center in Port St. Lucie or Boynton Beach and speak with an expert who can help you navigate the confusion surrounding the Affordable Care Act.

Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) is Nov. 1, 2019 to Dec. 15, 2019. Medicare enrollment is Oct. 1, 2019 to Dec. 7, 2019.
