OCALA, Fla. (CBS12) — Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a $1.2 billion tax relief package in Ocala Friday morning.

The bill will allow Floridians to save some money on a number of essential items like gas, diapers, and appliances.

The governor, whose family joined him at the event, signed the historic piece of legislation at Sam's Club in Ocala.

DeSantis said HB 7071 is "the largest tax relief in the history of the state of Florida."

Here's what the bill includes:

• Diapers, clothes, and shoes for babies and toddlers will be tax-free for one year beginning July 1
• School supplies will be tax-free during the 14-day Back-to-School Tax Holiday from July 25 through Aug. 7
• Provides a one-month motor fuels sales tax holiday from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31
• Emergency supplies will be tax-free from May 28 through June 10
• Tools and home improvement supplies will be tax-free for one week beginning Sept. 3
• Energy star appliances will be tax-free for one year starting July 1
• Boating, camping, fishing, sports, and outdoor equipment will be tax-free during the 7-day Freedom Week tax holiday beginning July 1
