Two men are being hailed as heroes for rescuing a man from a burning car.

The heroism is all caught on video by a police officer near Chicago.

Police said a man crashed his car just after midnight on East New York Street in Aurora, which is just west of Chicago.

A patrol car rolls up as 58-year-old Jose Martinez pulls the driver out of the burning car. Martinez lived across the street and rushed over when he heard the crash.

A second man, Devin Johnson of Aurora, grabs the driver and moves him further away from the burning wreckage.

The driver, a 34-year-old unidentified man from Warrenville, suffered burns and other injuries. He's also facing DUI charges and other offenses once he's out of the hospital.

"To say Jose's actions were heroic and brave are an understatement," wrote police on Facebook. "Had he not taken immediate action, the driver would not have lived. Devin should also be commended for assuring the man was out of harm’s way. Outstanding job, gentlemen."
