The artistry of the extreme cold

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) -- Temperatures well below zero this week left many people in Northeast Wisconsin to hunker down indoors and stay warm.

But some people brave enough to venture outside were able to use the arctic freeze to create beautiful artistry.

One of the most popular ways to create visual treats was to toss boiling water into the air.

This dentist from the Menominee tribal clinic caught some sun when he tried the experiment:

Some people added color to their water, giving them a ribbon of blue:

or green:

It wasn't just boiling water that got the colorful treatment. Ice can make for a bubbly sculpture as well:
