HOOVER, Ala. (CBS12) — Police in Hoover, Alabama say a shooting threat was over during a news conference Thursday night.
WIAT-TV reported shots rang out at the Riverchase Galleria during Black Friday shopping, the busiest shopping day of the year.
According to WBRC-TV, the shooting suspect is dead and two people were wounded.
Police confirmed the shooting, one victim was hospitalized in serious condition. The condition of a 12-year-old girl also hospitalized is unclear.
Witness Debby Woods said she heard the shots as she stopped at a jewelry kiosk.
"It was bang bang, then it was terrifying. Everybody started screaming and running," Woods said.
Another shopper, Molly Graham, said she ran out of Macy's as fast as possible.
"There's just people everywhere and cars trying to leave," Graham said. "It was really scary."
