The man who pleaded guilty earlier this month to killing his wife and their two daughters had confessed to his father that he killed them.

The confession from Christopher Watts is in a stack of new videos released by prosecutors.

In the recorded interview at the Weld County District Attorney's Office, Watts claimed his wife harmed their children when he took action.

"She hurt them," Watts said. "She hurt them?" asked the father. "Yeah, and then I killed her." Watts said in the recorded interview obtained by CNN, and days before police found their bodies.

Watts is now facing five life sentences after pleading guilty to killing his pregnant wife Shannan, and their two children, Bella and Celeste.

Other videos show police searching the couple's home and testing a baby monitor on the nightstand, and Watts taking a polygraph test.

In the test, Watts is questioned about his wife's cellphone. He also says it's a nightmare to think someone is hurting his family.

"I just want to find them," Watts told investigators. "I want them to come home safe and wherever they are. I hope they are safe, I really hope they can just go home. Just being in the house and not being able to tuck them in, it's heart-wrenching, it's very saddening right now because that's my kids."
