A prank turned into a murder charge for a 14-year-old boy in Houston.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the boy was at the wheel of an SUV that sped through an intersection and slammed into a pickup truck. A surveillance camera from a nearby business captured the violent collision.

The crash killed a 45-year-old woman who traveled to Houston to celebrate the New Year with family members.

Investigators said the teen and his friends were throwing eggs at other cars. The prank took a turn when the teens said a man with a gun started chasing them. That's what led up to the crash.

According to CBS News, the man who chased the teens is cooperating with investigators.

There's no word yet if the other teens in the SUV will be charged.
