BOISE, Idaho (KUTV) -- A 6.5 magnitude earthquake has struck near Boise, Idaho, according to the USGS.

The quake was felt by many as evidenced on social media.

The quake hit about 94 miles northeast of Boise and 73 miles southwest of Meridian.

The Associated Press reports that a restaurant owner near the quake's epicenter said his entire house was rattling from the force of it.

The earthquake comes just 12 days after a magnitude 5.7 earthquake hit near Magna, Utah, rattling the populous Wasatch Front.
