BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A young woman was hit by a car on I-95 Monday night, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said.
The crash happened on the southbound lanes, just north of Boynton Beach Boulevard.

A witness said she was trying to retrieve a bed mattress that fell off the car when she was hit. She was taken to Delray Medical Center, with serious but not life-threatening injuries.
The driver fled after hitting her, according to FHP, until witnesses say he was detained by Boynton Beach police on Boynton Beach Boulevard.
