Police have identified the suspect in Thursday's shootings in West Palm Beach.

Police say Thomas Haslom shot at two officers around 1:22 p.m. Thursday, striking their vehicles with bullets on the 400 block of 48th street. The police returned fire and the suspect fled north. Haslom was eventually captured by a K9 Unit in a residential back yard.

Police warned people to stay in their homes Thursday while they searched the surrounding neighborhood for Haslom.

Two elementary schools, Northmore and Northboro were on lock down, according to the district. They said as school was dismissed, police escorted students to the buses and their parents.
