West Palm Beach man accused of sexually battering a young boy

A 41-year-old man was arrested Monday for reportedly having sex with a 9-year-old boy, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies responded to New Orleans Court on Nov. 11 in reference to a sexual battery call, according to the sheriff's office. The boy was dropped off around noon at Robert Laylock's house, who was his babysitter.

When he was picked up at 6 p.m., he told the person who picked him up that Laylock performed sex acts on him, according to the report from the sheriff's office.

Laylock has watched the boy in the past, but this was the first time this has happened, the sheriff's office said.

The boy and Laylock were in his bedroom watching TV when Laylock started drinking beer and talking about sexual things, according to the sheriff's office. Laylock then told the boy to take his clothes off and get into bed. When he said no, Laylock got angry and began cursing at him.

Laylock took off all his clothes and performed oral sex on the boy, the sheriff's office said. Afterwards, he told the boy to turn around, but he said no. He got mad and started yelling at him. Investigators said the man then had anal sex with the boy and made the boy perform oral sex on him.

According to the report, the boy told Laylock to stop and that it hurt, but Laylock told him, "it's going to have to hurt," and continued.

Once Laylock was done, he put his clothes back on and threatened to kill the boy if he told anybody what happened, the sheriff's office said. After the boy said what happened and Laylock was confronted, he called the boy a liar.

Laylock is now facing three counts of sexual battery on a victim under 12 years old.
