Higher moisture levels will bring an elevated chance for afternoon and evening showers and storms through the remainder of the week.

Morning sunshine with a 60% chance for afternoon/evening showers and storms.

Some storms can contain heavy rainfall causing localized flooding.

Additionally, frequent lightning and strong wind gusts will accompany some storms.

Highs in the upper 80s to near 90.

Wind: SW 5-10 mph.

Weekend rain chances drop to 30-40%.

Temperatures will warm into the middle and upper 80s early this afternoon.

Though highs will remain near normal for this time of the year, when you factor in the heat index value, or how your body reacts to both the heat and humidity, it will feel more like the mid-90s through this afternoon.

With additional moisture and a southwest wind flow across South Florida today, showers and thunderstorms will return to the area this afternoon.

Our primary threat within storms today will be heavy rainfall and frequent lightning, though an isolated storm could produce strong wind gusts.

A few showers will linger early this evening, then partly cloudy and muggy again tonight, with lows in the 70s Friday morning.

We will remain unsettled through the end of the week with the potential for storms each afternoon.

Temperatures will remain near normal through the weekend, before heating up into the 90s next week with heat indices approaching the triple digits.
