A dramatic rooftop rescue of two young children is caught on camera in Delray Beach.

The incident happened Saturday afternoon.

Police took a call about a woman acting erratically on the roof of a townhouse with two young children standing with her.

Authorities rushed to the house, with officers ready to catch the children or the woman. Police said one officer tried to convince the woman to move the children off a narrow rain-soaked ledge as two others went up to window of the second floor bedroom to get outside. Police said the woman refused to listen to officers, saying she appeared paranoid and agitated.

According to police, Sgt. Debree managed to get a hold of the frightened children by the arm and led them to an open window of a townhouse next door.

Officers then lifted the woman to safety. She told police she took Molly, the pure powder form of ecstasy, which caused her to hallucinate.

Delray Beach police say she's been committed to a hospital for a mental evaluation under the Baker Act.

The 23-year-old woman could face charges once released, police said.

The children, aged 1 and 3, are in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
