WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The jury in the Donna Horwitz murder retrial handed down a guilty verdict on Tuesday.
The once-deadlocked panel went back into deliberations Tuesday morning with several questions for the judge.
After an hour-and-a-half of talking behind closed doors, they found the 70-year-old woman guilty of second degree murder.
Horwitz is now convicted of killing her ex-husband, Lanny Horwitz, in the shower of their home in the exclusive Admirals Cove neighborhood in Jupiter.
She was convicted four years ago, but an appeals court threw out the verdict, citing her right to remain silent.
During this retrial, the defense team pointed the finger at Lanny's former business partner and the couple's son, Radley.
We spoke to Radley after the jury reached a verdict.
He said he doesn't hate his mother, but his opinion on what happened changed after this second trial.
"Seeing those pictures of my dad again were just terrible, but that was my other parent so you cant help but feel a little bad," Radley said.
We also spoke to Lanny's sister and other close relatives who said it was much harder to sit through this second trial.
Attorneys for Horwitz refused to answer questions. They only said they plan to appeal.
The sentencing is set for July 14.
