FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — Two people were burned Saturday afternoon after a fire broke out on a small charter boat at the Ft. Pierce City Marina, according to fire officials. A man and a woman were transported to a local trauma hospital for their burns and other possible injuries. There is no update on their condition.
The St. Lucie County Fire District responded to the fire after they received a call at 5:15 p.m. Upon their arrival, they saw a boat on fire, and another being exposed to the flames, between two restaurants: Cobbs Landing and The Original Tiki Bar & Restaurant. Bystanders told them they witnessed the boat's engine explode, but fire officials are still investigating.
