The Florida Highway Patrol trooper, caught on camera being hit by a car, is home from the hospital.

A spokesman said Mithil Patel, 31, went home Tuesday night after spending several days at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Patel is reportedly in good spirits and just wanted to go home in rest, FHP spokesman Al Feola told CBS12 News.

Patel's wife told CBS12 News she's thankful for all the support and called it a miracle that he didn't break any bones.

Patel went airborne on Monday morning on I-95 near Hobe Sound. Investigators said a vehicle rear-ended an Audi. The Audi spun out of control toward Patel, who was on the scene of another crash.

In the video that went viral, Patel pushed a grandfather out of the way, potentially saving his life, before the Audi slammed into him.

The Patels say he may do an interview with media on Friday.
