Tracking two tropical waves in the Atlantic

Tracking two waves in the Atlantic. (WPEC)

There are two tropical waves in the Atlantic that are showing promising signs of development.

The storms are thousands of miles away, but with hurricanes Irma and Harvey still fresh in the psyche, the two feel very close.

Invest 96L is 800 miles southwest of the Cabo Verde Island. It has a 70 percent chance of developing over the next five days. It's moving west across the Atlantic at 15 mph.

This could be our next tropical depression by early next week.

The other storm has a 40 percent chance of development.

Hurricane Jose is tracked to spin out to sea.
