RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — Three girls were recovered from a scary situation after police say they were involved in a possible sex trafficking incident.
The Riviera Beach Police Department said on Saturday, investigators were called to 190 East 13th Street regarding a “missing person.”
The mother of one of the victims told police her daughter and two other girls were reported missing out of Charlotte County on May 29. The mother said she received information that the three were possibly victims of sex trafficking.
Through investigative means, members of the Strategic Investigations Division said they were able to identify multiple men as persons of interest. In the span of 36 hours, police were able to locate and recover all three alleged trafficking victims successfully.
Police say one of the girls was found in Jupiter, while the other two were found in Port St. Lucie.
The police department says in regard to the sex trafficking allegations, a multijurisdictional investigative plan is currently being organized by detectives from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
