
VERO BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) - One person is dead and a teenager is charged with his death after a shooting in Vero Beach ended with a crash near a BP Gas station, deputies say.
The Indian River County Sheriff's Office says the suspect is 18-year-old Camden Stukins who shot into a vehicle through the passenger window with five people inside the car. Deputies believe Stukins is a senior ar Vero Beach High School.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 20-year-old Carltravious Jones, died overnight in the hospital, the sheriff's office says. The front seat passenger is in critical condition and all of the backseat passengers have been released from the hospital. The five passengers in the car are also all believed to be Vero Beach High School students.
The Indian River County School District issued a statement on Twitter saying it is aware of the "tragic incident" involving some of its current and past students.
