Police search for suspect following shooting, chase

Suspect chase underway in West Palm Beach (WPEC)

Police are still searching for a suspect following a shooting and chase in West Palm Beach.

West Palm Beach police say one person was shot late Sunday night along Sapodilla Avenue, just south of Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. Authorities took the victim to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The pursuit began as police chased the suspects on I-95 south. After getting off on the Southern Boulevard exit, the chase continued until they reached Haverhill Road, where the suspect was chased on foot, police say.

At least one suspect was taken into custody, but police say they're still searching for another.

This comes after two men were shot along N. Sapodilla Avenue. Both are expected to be okay.

Police say they do not know if Sunday night's shooting is connected to a deadly shooting Friday night in the same area near Sapodilla Avenue.

A 24-year-old was shot and killed and a second person was injured.

About an hour later, another shooting was reported just a few blocks up the road. No word if that shooting is also connected.

Anyone with information regarding either incident is asked to call Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers and 800-458-TIPS.

This is a developing story. Stay with CBS12 for updates.
