PALM BEACH, Fla — Local supporters of former President Donald Trump said they will continue to stand behind him after the Department of Justice unsealed a federal indictment, detailing felony charges related to the mishandling of classified documents Friday.
The less-than-usual crowd gathered along Southern Boulevard near the Mar-a-Lago estate this evening and waved flags.
A smaller group compared to a few months ago, when the ex-commander-in-chief was indicted for the first time by a New York judge in state court over his business dealings.
“I think it just makes him stronger, this is only going to make him stronger,” said Maria Korynsel of North Palm Beach when asked if this will change Trump’s standing in the 2024 presidential run
Friday’s indictment laid out extensive details, including photos of boxes of classified government information stored around his property, like a storage room, a ballroom, and in a bathroom.
“Nobody can show us a time-dated stamp of these photos,” added Korynsel. It’s insanity. It’s just another tactic by the left.”
The group said they will return near Trump’s club Sunday and will travel to rally in Miami on Tuesday where the former president is scheduled to set a plea before a federal judge.
