Hello Parents, Guardians, this is Mr. Alfonso notifying you about a situation that occurred on our campus today.
School District Police confiscated a loaded gun, without incident, from a student. The gun, which had not been used in a threatening manner, was discovered after another student reported to a member of staff that they had seen the weapon.
Once administration received the tip, the student in question was immediately located, detained, and searched. That student was arrested and, in accordance with the District’s Zero Tolerance policy, is now facing expulsion. Parents, every day on our morning announcements I review our four rules. Rule number four is Protect this house. If you see anything hear anything report it to Fortify Florida, administration, School Police, or your teacher. I want to commend the individual who brought this matter to my immediate attention. We all play a role in school safety. Thank you to our staff and students for protecting our house and reporting suspicious activity.
Thank you for your continued support of Palm Beach Lakes Community High School.
