Stuart Police make arrest in murder case

    The Stuart Police Department say they believe that a murderer is now off the street due to the tireless efforts of detectives.

    Late Wednesday night, a passerby called 911 after seeing a man covered in blood attempting to flag down vehicles in the middle of SE Federal Highway.

    Upon arrival, Officers found 23-year-old Jeremiah "Jeremy" Uber, of Jensen Beach, lying in the roadway unconscious and immediately began resuscitation efforts.

    Uber was pronounced dead upon arriving at Lawnwood Medical Center in Fort Pierce.

    Stuart Police Detectives worked tirelessly throughout the night following every lead possible and were able to identify a suspect in the case.

    On Thursday afternoon, the suspect’s vehicle was located traveling on Jensen Beach Boulevard.

    Detectives arrested Robert Michael Magneson, of Jensen Beach, and charged him with second-degree murder.

    He is being held at the Martin County Jail in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
