Staying busy in the tropics
Even though Michael is now post-tropical, it's still very active in the tropics. Post tropical Michael will continue to push offshore the New England Coast. Gusty winds and an additional 1-3" of rain still possible over Eastern New England. Meanwhile, Hurricane Leslie continues to move quickly toward the Eastern Atlantic at 32 mph. Top winds on Leslie are 85 mph. Leslie is forecast to gradually weaken and move ashore in Portugal or Spain early next week. Tropical Storm Nadine located to the South of Leslie has top winds 45 mph. Nadine will succumb to wind shear and dissipate in the next day or so.
Another low pressure area could form in the Western Caribbean. This system has a 20% development chance within the next 5 days as it moves towards Central America.
