St. Lucie Co. Fire Rescue contain large brush fire

ST. LUCIE COUNTY (CBS12) — St. Lucie County Fire Rescue crews battled a large brush fire in the western part of the county.

The active fire was located at 9000 Carlton Road.

Fire Rescue says they received calls about the fire around 4:15 p.m. The fire originally spanned over 120-acres.

Florida Forestry was also on scene, assisting fire rescue crews.

As of 6 p.m. the brush fire spanned over 75-acres. Fire Rescue said there weren't any homes threatened.

As of 7 p.m. Florida Forestry reported the fire had been 100% contained.
