Police arrested the son of a man found dead in Boca Raton.

James Scandirito Jr., of Fort Lauderdale, is facing a charge of first degree murder in the death of his 74-year-old father.

Police found the elder Scandirito's body on an abandoned golf course at the former Ocean Breeze Golf Club last week.

According to police, the son told investigators his father was supposed to come home around 6 p.m. on March 31.

Detectives found evidence that led them to Scandirito as a suspect in his father's killing, Boca Raton Police said.

Investigators arrested Scandirito in Alachua County, driving his car with a stolen license plate. He's being held without bond.
