Three local teens were identified and charged with robbery after a post on social media helps investigators identify the suspects, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s office.

They say the tips began rolling in just minutes after investigators posted on social media about the armed robbery.

The post featured photos of three males walking into a Circle K in Hobe Sound Monday at 2:30 a.m.

After the clerk refused to sell one teenager mango flavored e-cigarette cartridges, the trio carried out the robbery, officials say. One of the suspects jumped over the counter and confronted the clerk as he grabbed several e-cigarette cartridges.

Logan Winfree, 17, of Tequesta, 17-year old Hunter Smith of Hobe Sound, and 17-year old Charles Althauser of Stuart, have all been charged with robbery, which is a felony.
