Shooting victim found in car on Okeechobee Boulevard

WEST PALM BEACH (CBS12) — West Palm Beach Police are investigating a shooting..

It happened near two schools on Jog Road.

There are two schools in the vicinity of the shooting--Jaega Middle School and Grassy Waters Elementary---both on Jog Road.

West Palm Beach Police say man was shot about 8:30 Wednesday night near the intersection of Jog Road and Roebuck Ct.

He flagged down a person who then called 911.

The victim was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

About a mile away, there was a second crime scene near the intersection of Okeechobee Boulevard and Jog Road.

West Palm Beach Police were actively working that scene as well Wednesday night.

They seemed to be focusing their attention on a car---a Chevy---at that location.

A West Palm Beach Police spokeswoman said the two scenes were related. She did not provide details on how they were related.

She did say that the victim of the shooting was not in a car.

Both schools were closed at the time of the shooting.
