Investigators in central Florida chased down and arrested a 57-year-old man who they say kidnapped a 16-year-old girl.

The incident happened Sunday afternoon in Deland.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office said the girl was walking along the street when Robert Dishman pulled up on an ATV and grabbed her.

The girl told investigators she was scared and didn't fight because she knew Dishman, and knew he had firearms and knives.

Investigators said Dishman took the girl to his house and drove off with her in his car. She managed to call her mom who alerted the sheriff's office.

Volusia County's Air One tracked Dishman's car into DeLeon Springs where deputies made a traffic stop and arrested Dishman, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies found the teen in the man's car, shaken but not hurt. According to the sheriff's office, her mother said Dishman has approached her daughter on a number of occasions despite being asked to stay away.

Dishman faces charges of kidnapping, child abuse, interference with child custody and driving while license suspended or revoked. He's being held on a $31,500 bond.
