Gov. Rick Scott met with water management leaders in West Palm Beach on Thursday.

Scott held a briefing with the South Florida Water Management District and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.

Algae worries and discharges from Lake Okeechobee are expected to be topics of discussion.

On Wednesday, Scott issued an emergency order to allow water from Lake O to be discharged further south through the Everglades region of Palm Beach County.

The US Army Corps of Engineers plans to reduce flows from Lake O as well.
